Overview : Polyurethane foam is the most common type of foam used in cases. The foam is soft enough to provide flexibility for items, but also dense enough to provide cushion for even the heaviest of items.

Technical: Polyurethane is open cell which means air and water can flow freely throughout the foam. The material weighs about 1.2 - 1.3 lbs per cubic foot.

Pelican 1770 replacement foam

The foam arrived in excellent shape. The foam fit the case (length X width) perfectly. The only issue I had was that the foam was not cut to make space for the case's wheels which protrude into the case's interior. Now, after cutting the base layer and the next layer to make room for the wheel wells it does not look good cause I had no time to get the right tools. Other than that, the protection of equipment is great.
